Fanzine

In 2023, after experiencing burnout from my monotonous job as a nighttime call center operator, I decided to focus on what had always warmed my soul: drawing and animals. Since birds are the most commonly seen wildlife in cities, I chose to center my work around them. This became my way of healing, little by little. I set out to create a simple bird identification fanzine, approaching my research with care and dedication.

I carefully selected the birds I wanted to feature — all common in the streets of Spain, yet often misunderstood. Ultimately, I chose the rock pigeon, house sparrow, monk parakeet, yellow-legged gull, and white wagtail.

Each chapter includes detailed information about the bird’s characteristics, size, potential sexual dimorphism, diet, reproduction, interesting facts, and similar species.

When I finished the fanzine, I asked the ICO (the Catalan Ornithological Institute) to review it, and they gave me the go-ahead, confirming that the information was correct.
